This was a fun one for our design team: three different areas with three different railing styles. This was a home building project that was already over budget and over the scheduled time by the time we stepped in, so it was important to us that the homeowner and contractor were absolutely clear on what they could expect from us both on their budget and their install schedule... Nothing too funky about this one, except that we did a double-gate at the landing at the top of the stairs. A single gate would have protruded and hung over the stairs, but we wanted the homeowners to have full access to the width of their stairs, so we built a standard 3’ gate that they’ll use most of the time, with a smaller gate that can also be opened if needed... For homes with a spectacular waterfront or hillside view, our Infinity Glass system has to be my favorite. From the outside looking at the home, it’s got a curb appeal that immediately adds huge value to the home. From the inside looking out, it’s just a dream; it pretty much just disappears, allowing for an uninterrupted, infinite view (hence the name). It’s just beautiful... View Project
This is a pretty popular look right now, and one I’m a big fan of: modern home with clean lines, varying textures and colors, and a lot of natural light. Our Modern Horizontal railings are perfect for this type of home, and the black color of the rail both accents the modern aspects of the home and blends nicely with the landscaping... View Project
I always appreciate homeowners who take pride in their homes and make an investment in upgrading them in simple ways. A new railing system instantly adds that “pop” factor to your home, and adds value whether you’re selling your home or staying for a while... View Project
Another extremely tight timeline! The homeowners were hosting a party on a specific date, and starting the deck remodel was contingent on it being complete by the time the party began. We do all of our drawings in CAD, so we were able to pre-order the glass, build the railings, and have everything on site two days prior to the party for installation... View Project
Pretty simple cable rail for a waterfront home in Burien. For all of our cable rail, we use vinyl grommets to separate the cables from the powder-coated aluminum frame, and custom fasteners at the posts for easy tightening... View Project
Extremely tight timeline on this one. The clients were hosting a wedding, and our railings were just part of a mad dash to completion before the party! There was a lot of coordination for this project, with a dry-fit to make sure the railings fit perfectly... View Project
This was a pretty typical Modern Horizontal railing system, but the homeowner really wanted to stick with a more raw, industrial look..We treated the finished rail the same way we would with a regular powder-coat, but did a clear-coat powder finish rather than a colored finish.... View Project
This is an interesting one: the client had some glass railings that were already installed when she purchased the home, and never really liked the style. When the railings (built and installed by another railing company obviously!) started to fail and a glass panel came loose, she called us.... View Project
A lot of work went into this one. We started by removing the old railing system and cedar shake fascia. We replaced the fascia with cedar, and cut relief cuts into the back of the boards across the radius decks to achieve the true radius bend... View Project
At first glance, this was a pretty typical railing project, but there were a lot of little details that went into pulling this off: the bottom channel was lowered since the clients had a small dog, there were a lot of little jogs and level changes to be taken into account, and having larger posts than normal changes a lot of how we line up the railings with the deck and stairs... View Project
The client wanted a very specific look: thin posts with a flat top cap to minimize the profile of the railings. We found some 1”x2” extrusions, but the concern we had was bending on the end and corner posts where the cables were tightened. For the corner posts, we used a welded corner at the mid point of the posts, and on the ends we added an interior stiffener.... View Project
It’s the little details that take a simple railing job from standard to perfect, like how you transition from the stairs to the landing. Details matter... View Project
We’ve been seeing a lot of split-level and tri-level interiors lately, and we never get tired of seeing how they transform from a dated and cramped style to an open and modern one. They’re really one of my favorite styles right now because of how dramatically they change... View Project

This was a pretty standard project: Double-Top Picket on the deck and stairs, and a small cable rail with some wall-mounted handrails on the interior entry. A few complications worthy of note were the multiple directions of slope on the deck area, and the need to finish with a parallelogram on the stairs ... View Project
We had done a railing system on the front deck of this home in 2008, and the clients were working with a landscape design company to build a new stairwell on the side of their house to the front porch. They ended up adding another stair on the opposite side of the house, and a stair and upper landing ... View Project
This home had an old wood-framed glass railing that was literally falling apart when we arrived, so we ended up using some scrap aluminum just to keep the wood frame intact while we were building the new aluminum rail... View Project
This was a new custom home built by a General Contractor we work with on a regular basis, and one in which the homeowners wanted to be very involved in the design process. We had a lot of collaboration done at the start of our involvement with the project, particularly on the design of the exterior decks and interior landing... View Project
